1. Introduction The body’s defense mechanism against infection and disease is provided by the immune system, which is a sophisticated network of cells, tissues, and organs. Innate and adaptive immune responses are both a part of the body’s immunological response to COVID-19. The body’s initial line of defense against the virus is the innate immune response, which comprises a variety of cells and chemicals that can detect and react to the virus.
