Odontomas are benign tumors with a mixed epithelial-ectomesenchymal origin and are considered hamartomatous odontogenic lesions (2). Odontomas usually develop in a late stage of false odontogenesis and therefore consist of different odontogenic components.

Discussion The symptoms in patients with CS are diverse and often manifest themselves in less pronounced forms compared to AS (5, 6). Consequently, a correct diagnosis is often difficult. Signs of CS are, in particular, increased nocturnal retronasal secretion (“postnasal drip”), recurrent nasal congestion, intermittent olfactory disorders and, in special cases, a feeling of pressure or pain in the area of the affected paranasal sinuses (11).

Discussion Actinomyces occur in different anatomical regions. However, its localization in the cervicofacial region is the most common (6). The peak incidence of this disease is in young adults (7). The cervicofacial manifestation of actinomycosis is rare, especially in Western countries (5). Risk factors for this disease are immunosuppression, systemic diseases such as type II diabetes mellitus, alcoholism, and malnutrition (5, 6).
