Takoradi, March 27 - It was 10:00 hours on a Saturday morning and artisanal fishers in a coastal town of Abandze, on the West coast of Ghana are seated patiently under their sheds waiting for the rains with strong wind to recede so they could embark on their fishing expedition. Fish processors and traders also sit on their aluminum basins at the shore hoping same. According to the fishers, the sudden weather changes is making it difficult for them to go to sea as often as they should.

The Union of Nzema Management Scientists and the Western Nzema youth league have called on the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Ghana Gas Company to invest in fire safety and help ensure fire standards in Nzemaland. According to them, there was the need to audit all fire hydrants in Ellembelle, Jomoro and Evalue Gwira municipalities and equip the GNFS to set up fire brigades.

10.08.2022 LISTEN High tidal waves hit the people of Keta municipality and some coastal communities of Ghana in November 2021, flooding several inland areas such as homes, schools, places of worships, and displacing thousands of people, including children and women. Now, since April 2022, about 70 canoes, in most cases including gears and outboard motors have been damaged due to tidal waves, storm surge or floods.
