1. Introduction Wind energy is becoming a prominent player in the global energy mix, and this trend is expected to continue. One of the main drivers is the need for decarbonization to achieve carbon neutrality, as stipulated in the Paris Agreement of 2015. The European Union aims for 32% of its electricity mix to come from renewable energy sources (RESs) by 2030. As of 2020, this percentage was 19.7%, with 16.9% of this electricity produced by wind turbines (WTs) [1].
