The other day, my friend and I went out for a movie. We sat for lunch and in between all the gossip, we somehow stumbled onto the topic of sex, and realised that we knew very little about it. What is worse is that we felt ashamed for even talking about it. That’s how Indian brains have been hard-wired from time immemorial. Sex is such a frowned upon word. It’s high time that that mindset changes.

In a time where sex and topics related to sexual health are still considered taboo and frowned upon, Pratisandhi Foundation, a student-run non-profit organisation, is working towards sexual health and education. We wish to create a difference through means of educating the youth in a manner by which they can become self-aware and empowered individuals who can make informed decisions.

Representational Image By Iyona Roy Biswas: Why is it the way it is? Why am I seen guilty, I might be innocent, Why are these gender roles so omnipotent? Why is she seen innocent, she might be guilty, Why does she get all the sympathy and no one shows me pity? A world where victims aren’t decided on probabilities, Where morality isn’t a measure of femininity, Is it too much to ask for? Gender biases can’t you just ignore? I was taught to respect women, But what if she disrespected me?
