Nearly half-a-billion dollars is flowing into Morehead State as large scale construction projects are underway to modernize campus. The more than $400 million campus renovation project includes three new dorms, three academic facilities along with the renovation and demolition of several existing buildings. “Our university is 139 years old, 1887 to now. And as a part of that, we have beautiful buildings, but they're beautiful old buildings,” said MSU president Jay Morgan.

Morehead’s early pride celebration couldn’t be stopped by the rain. The Third Annual Pride of Morehead Festival became a stage for performances and people to celebrate Pride on East Main Street Saturday, until bad weather prompted an early ending. “I see joy, I see protection, I see dreams, I see people who know that shame has a cost, that silence has a cost and that pride is joyful,” said Willie Carver, a local author and educator.
