The TTC has a speed problem. From streetcars to subways, parts of Toronto’s public transit system often move at a snail’s pace. Clogged roads and aging and deteriorating infrastructure combine to frustrate commuters, who are left wondering when the next train will show up and whether it’ll provide the reliable service many expect of a major city’s premier transit agency. However, the TTC may be on the cusp of solving a longstanding problem that’s plagued the city’s subway network for years.
