There's a lack of rawness in music in 2026.. The recording methodology here is the story, and it’s a good one. Rather than booking a conventional studio, Alicia Glass and producer Jeff Sontag tracked “Will That Be Ok” across four working spaces in Durango, Colorado: drums at Cold Storage Art Collective, a bike repair workshop and DIY venue where the band played their first show; guitars at Durango Premiere Auto Care; vocals onstage at Ska Brewing; bass in the garage where the band rehearses.

Debut albums built around heartbreak are almost impossible to do without cliché. The territory is so thoroughly mapped that arriving at something that feels genuinely new requires either radical sonic invention or an emotional honesty so specific it bypasses the familiar entirely. ANDI, the Chinese-Australian singer, songwriter and violinist, has chosen the second path — and Still Believe in Love, his twelve-track debut, earns its ambitions more often than not.

There's something quietly brave about a twenty-year-old releasing a song he wrote at seventeen or eighteen, sitting with it long enough to know it's ready rather than rushing it out in the immediate aftermath of the feeling that created it.
