Audio’s On The Rise series proved why it has become such an important platform for emerging Scottish talent, with four bands each bringing something unique to the stage. From energetic punk to grunge-inspired rock, the evening never stood still. Opening the night, High Voltage wasted no time making an impression. A surprisingly delicate piano introduction quickly exploded into a wall of punk-infused rock, creating an immediate contrast that defined much of their set.

Throughout Scotland, not many events are celebrated as much as the Edinburgh Fringe. Performers, comedians, and artists are already preparing their shows this summer as the event approaches its start date of August 7th. Through all the performances and free shows within something like the Fringe, audiences rarely get to see the hard work, grit and determination that goes into these small-scale productions.

Glasgow sextet dial up the pulse with a glitchy, insomnia-fuelled dancefloor filler. Sleep feels like a distant memory on I Can’t Sleep, as the Glasgow six-piece lean fully into their most electronic instincts yet. Built for dimly lit dancefloors and racing minds alike, the track surges forward on a restless EDM-leaning groove, fusing dance-punk urgency with a flickering, synth-heavy edge. From the outset, there’s an unease that drives everything.
