1 Introduction Colletotrichum species are increasingly recognised as important fungal plant pathogens of both crops and native flora due to their broad host range and ability to cause latent or asymptomatic infection (Alcova et al. 2026). Members of this genus cause anthracnose, characterised by dark, sunken, necrotic lesions on fruit, foliage, stems and twigs. Several Colletotrichum species have been reported from a range of Australian native plants (e.g., Liu et al. 2013; Shivas et al. 2016).
