What is already known? There is evidence that impaired awareness of hypoglycaemia (IAH) is associated with an increased risk of anxiety and depression in type 1 diabetes (T1D). This question has been underexplored in insulin-treated type 2 diabetes (T2D). What has this study found? In participants in the Hypo-METRICS study with insulin-treated T2D, IAH was associated with higher fear of hypoglycaemia scores in the adjusted linear regression analysis.
