Sixty North Gold Mining Ltd. June 19 reported that a new baseline-sampling requirement will delay the planned startup of its Mon gold mine, where the company had been preparing to begin operations this summer at the Yellowknife-area project in Northwest Territories. Located roughly 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of Yellowknife, Mon is a former underground gold mine that produced approximately 15,000 ounces of gold from about 15,000 metric tons of ore during the 1990s.

As part of a federal push to move advanced nuclear reactors from design into testing, the Valar Atomics Inc.'s Ward 250 reactor has completed a zero-power fueled test demonstrating that it can sustain a controlled nuclear chain reaction at the Utah San Rafael Energy Lab in Emery County, Utah.

June 17 reported the first assay results from its 2026 resource delineation drilling at Cowley, where near-surface drilling intersected high-grade copper-gold-silver-molybdenum skarn across the company's broader Whitehorse Copper project in Yukon. Situated just outside Yukon's capital city, the Whitehorse Copper project covers approximately 5,380 hectares (13,294 acres) along the 35-kilometer (22 miles) by five-kilometer (three miles) Whitehorse Copper Belt.
