I’m Temitayo (Temi or Tayo is fine). I’m a journalist, storyteller, and product strategist who believes media is most impactful when it puts audiences at the center. Over the past six years, I’ve worked at the intersection of journalism and product management, helping newsrooms rethink how stories are told, how products are built, and how communities are engaged.
At Zikoko Citizen, I led a team that made politics accessible to younger readers, driving a 400% audience increase in my first quarter as Editor-in-Chief. At HumAngle Media, I launched the interactive journalism desk and introduced satellite imagery into investigations — work that earned me the 2023 West African Journalist of the Year award.
Most recently, I served as a Media Advisor at MDIF’s Nigerian program, supporting 28 independent media organizations in product innovation, audience growth, and sustainability. Alongside this, I’ve contributed to projects like Actualize Films and Archvi.ng, exploring how archives and data can reimagine cultural storytelling.
Outside work, I like to “vibe” code media products for fun, cycle long distances, and volunteer in my community. Now in Canada, I’m open to opportunities where I can apply my expertise in journalism, product strategy, and audience development to help organizations build products that inform, engage, and endure.
