I support Dr. Elizabeth Fagan for mayor..... I have known Elizabeth for many years and am very excited to support her candidacy. She is well liked and respected in the community and is deeply passionate about Summit. Elizabeth is committed to listening to the concerns of residents, just as she did as a doctor treating her patients. She is Intelligent, honest and humble, and I can’t think of a better person to be our next mayor.

The 2017 World Series begins Tuesday as the Houston Astros take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in a match-up between teams that both won more than 100 games during the regular season. The Dodgers, with ace Clayton Kershaw, are seeing their first World Series championship since the Kirk Gibson series in 1988. The Astros, meanwhile, are looking to take home their first trophy since moving to the American League in 2013 thanks in part to the Aug. 31 acquisition of right-handed starter Justin Verlander.

Royals - Acquired Sanchez Kansas City Royals - Acquired P Jonathan Sanchez and P Ryan Verdugo from the San Francisco Giants for OF Melky Cabrera. I count many Giant fans as friends. I can’t imagine that any of them are happy at the moment. If the name Aaron Rowand doesn’t come up in discussing this trade I’d be shocked. Strictly on the basis of play in 2011 the Giants get the better of this deal, but that’s a silly basis to make the deal.
