1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitro-benzene (TATB) is used in a wide variety of applications [1] because of low sensitivity to stimuli (will not easily detonate while handling, compacting, machining, etc.) [2, 3]. However, because of the widespread and long-term use in munitions, the possibility of exposure to abnormal environments is of concern because these could cause a breakdown of TATB and these decomposition products may be more sensitive to stimuli than the parent TATB [4].
