Coronary microvascular dysfunction assessed by continuous intracoronary thermodilution: A comparative study with index of microvascular resistance
Highlights • The presence of coronary microvascular dysfunction can be accurately diagnosed by measuring the minimum microvascular resistance obtained by the continuous thermodilution method. • We found that a continuous thermodilution resistance value >500 WU quantitatively predicts the presence of coronary microvascular dysfunction.

Abstract Patent foramen oval (PFO) usually represents a benign incidental finding. Occasionally, a PFO can widely open, resulting in paradoxical embolism with potentially devastating consequence. Floating intracardiac thrombi and thrombus straddling a PFO are two extremely rare conditions, associated with a dismal prognosis and encountered almost exclusively in the setting of pulmonary embolism (PE).
