That's according to a new report out from the International Energy Agency (IEA), which found coal use across the world may hit a new all-time high in 2023. Demand has increased 1.4% this year, reaching over 8.5 billion metric tons as countries such as India and China face "weak hydropower output," leading to growing electricity use.
