The Listener (2024) - Film
Drama 2024 96 menit Rating 5.6/10 Rating 6.2/10 Sutradara Steve Buscemi Penulis Skenario Alessandro Camon Studio Hantz Motion Pictures Olive Productions Sight Unseen Pictures Synopsis Film The Listener menghadirkan cerita yang cukup unik karena hampir seluruh film hanya menampilkan satu karakter di layar.
Shootout - Keine Gnade
The Listener (2024)
The Listener follows Beth (Tessa Thompson), a young woman who spends her nights helping others via phone. Each call comes with its own set of issues, and Beth is forced to deal with the unbecoming reality that lives just outside her home. It’s Thompson’s voice that strengthens the film the most. She does a brilliant job of calming her voice, remaining monotone, but equally serene when necessary. She is a calming presence in an otherwise stressful setting.
Bullet to the Head (2013)
When veteran hit man Jimmy Bobo (Sylvester Stallone) and his partner, Louis (Jon Seda), kill a corrupt ex-cop, Louis in turn loses his life to an ex-mercenary named Keegan (Jason Momoa). Detective Taylor Kwon (Sung Kang) senses a connection between the two killings and seeks out Bobo, who subsequently saves Kwon from an assassination attempt. The pair join forces against a common enemy: a ruthless real-estate developer named Robert Nkomo Morel (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje).
The Listener
It’s a character study, a moody atmospheric piece of contemplation with one character who, through interacting with others, unseen, on the phone comes away with a grander understanding of self. We, as the audience, come away with a grander understanding of our own interactions and how life changes without us ever knowing about it. Read More

A Fight in Hollywood (and Why It Matters for Everyone)
While many might dismiss the current fight between Hollywood writers and agencies as “rich people’s problems,” the fight actually illuminates important issues about intellectual labor in the current economy — issues that are directly related to the general erosion of the middle class across the country. White Men on a Mission: Martin Scorsese’s Long “Silence”
SILENCE, MARTIN SCORSESE’S long-awaited epic of Jesuit missionaries in 17th-century Japan, is not your typical Christmas movie. When I saw Silence on Christmas Eve, I had just fielded rebukes from my still-Catholic, Polish family, who called me from Poland to ask why I was in Los Angeles instead of home for the holiday. As I sat through the three-hour-long film, it felt like the old country had caught up with me. I found myself glowering at the screen with the rage of a trapped Sunday school pupil.
Why Moviegoing Matters
MOVIEGOING, like roller-skating and rotary telephone use, is in decline. This is not to suggest that people don’t watch movies anymore. If anything, the ubiquity of screens today — on smartphones, on tablets, on laptops, to say nothing of cable television with its access to nine hundred channels — has made it possible for people to watch more movies than ever.
