Neon to directly release Na Hong-jin’s ‘Hope’ in UK-Irish cinemas

Source: Courtesy of Plus M Entertainment ‘Hope’ US studio Neon has confirmed it will directly release Korean filmmaker Na Hong-jin’s sci-fi thriller Hope in UK and Irish cinemas, with a release date of September 25. Neon has previously acquired UK and Irish rights for films, such as Cannes Competition title Fjord and Hirokazu Koreeda’s Sheep In The Box, which were then acquired by Picturehouse for theatrical release.

Int’l co-production spend soars in UK

International co-production spend in the UK rose more than 40% in the first half of 2026, according to data from the British Film Institute (BFI). Six co-productions contributed £38.3m to the UK, an increase from £27m in the 2025 period, with shows such as BBC Northern Ireland and Canada’s CBC drama Committed among those filming.
