Alex Barter

Seasoned watch collectors or those who have just started exploring the world of timepieces would agree that horological knowledge knows no bounds.

Alex Barter and Gareth Mitchell explain why smart metering is key to creating a water secure future for the United Kingdom. Climate instability combined with an expanding population and escalating levels of per capita consumption are creating unsustainable pressure both on water resources and an overstretched supply network. Yet, without any insight into where leaks occur or how consumer behaviour affects consumption, how can water companies meet the government’s ambitious plans to reduce usage?

Launch Slideshow Part II of the Masterworks of Time collection continues to excite through the extraordinary quality and variety of its timepieces. The second part of this series of sales pays homage to Adolf Lange and the exceptional watchmakers of Glahshütte; however, the sale also includes a wide variety of timepieces from the 16th to the 20th centuries by other European makers.
