Kia’s Sportage has finally found its groove: As a roomy, family-friendly SUV with a “just right” price tag. What do I mean by that? Well, the Sportage started out as a fugly 5-door SUV built on a Mazda van platform (no I’m not kidding), then it became a frumpy crossover with Pontiac Aztek styling, then it was trying to compete with Volkswagen with turbo engines and sporty dynamics (but a tight interior), but this Sportage, this one has hit the nail on the head.

The Alfa Romeo Tonale is finally here, so let’s talk about what it brings to the table in the subcompact luxury crossover segment. For starters, don’t expect this to be the posher version of the Dodge Hornet. This is still more of a sporty vehicle with black or black/red interior choices, no brown or white leather or anything more ornate than that. Starting at a smooth 14 grand more than its platform-mate, that is one area we wish Alfa had focused more on.

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 set in motion a changing EV tax credit landscape. Every year between 2022 and 2029 the rules will change annually to incentivize EV production in North America, but not all the changes have been easy to understand. The US Treasury just released details on the vehicles that will qualify for either $3,750 or $7,50 in non-refundable tax credits starting April 18, 2023.
