Everything is lining up for the Wahoo girls golf team at just the right time. The Warriors had several players who shot PR’s and, as a result, came in third place at the Arlington Invite with a score of 448 at River Wilds Golf Club on Sept. 23. “Our team has shown great improvement from the start of the season to now,” Wahoo head coach Andy Klepper said. “I'm happy for our medalists and the rest of our team as they keep getting better and have shown growth. In a battle of cross-county rivals, it was the Ashland-Greenwood and Wahoo volleyball teams meeting up for a Trailblazer conference match on Sept. 23. In straight sets, the Bluejays took down the Warriors by a final of 25-21, 25-12, and then 25-16. In recent years, Wahoo has dominated the series with A-G. The Bluejays were happy to get some revenge on them this season.

Ashland Fire and Rescue prepare for fundraiser event

Nothing brings a community together like some good home-cooked food. Ashland Fire and Rescue are taking this to heart as they prepare for their third annual BBQ Fundraiser at 5 p.m. at the Ashland Firehouse on Oct. 4. The event came together a few years back as a way for the fire and rescue squad members to meet people in the community while also raising money for the volunteer-based groups. “This is our third year doing this event,” Ashland Fire and Rescue member Tiffany Alcorn said.
