Racing brothers guilty of killing Welsh dad and seriously injuring his nine-year-old son

Two optometrist brothers have been found guilty of causing the death of a dad and seriously injuring his nine-year-old son by racing home from work in Wales to their homes in Manchester. Rugby referee Rhys Jenkins, 41, from Powys, died at the scene of a horrific crash on the A483 near Welshpool while his badly injured son Ioan had to be flown to hospital for treatment after Abubakr Ben Yusaf, 31, crashed his BMW into their Toyota Yaris.

Human composting and water cremation may be approved in Wales

Human composting and water cremation could be introduced in England and Wales, a new report has suggested. Burial, cremation and burial at sea are the only methods currently formally recognised in law in the two nations, the Law Commission said. Water cremation – or alkaline hydrolysis – was introduced in Scotland in March, becoming the first UK nation to bring in this method as an alternative to cremation and burial.

Henry County partners with developer on shell building

Henry County leaders moved in late 2023 to expand the county-owned Patriot Centre Industrial Park by approving construction of the park’s fourth shell building. “We have to give the world a reason to look at Henry County,” says Henry County Administrator Dale Wagoner.
