Local high school student-athletes were honored Thursday night at an inaugural banquet held by the America First Charitable Foundation & Nevada Sports Net inside the Basin Street Club at Mackay Stadium. Each student was recognized during the 2023 high school football season after being invited onto the field at halftime and honored in front of their home crowd during games broadcast live on Nevada Sports Net as part of Friday Night Rivals.

The Wolf Pack men's basketball team had some special guests in attendance during its dominant 76-58 win over Wyoming on Tuesday night at Lawlor Events Center. Asher Norvell, as well as his older brother, Landon, and mom, Charlene, were welcomed by the team as part of the program's efforts with the local Make-A-Wish Foundation. The brothers came out with the team during lineup announcements and all three were honored at the under-12 timeout during the second half of the game.
