Alex Smith - East Midlands A man who stabbed his "friend" 11 times in the neck and stole money from her has been jailed for life. Derbyshire Police said Thomas Turner and Mandy Riley had been drinking and smoking together at her flat at Harriet Tubman House on 4 June 2025. Turner asked Riley for money, which she refused, and Turner then lost his temper and stabbed her repeatedly, before stealing money from her handbag.

Leicestershire Police said on 29 November 2023, it was contacted by East Midlands Ambulance Service, which were in attendance at an address in Mulberry Avenue, Leicester. Tobias-John Doyle was taken to hospital from the address but died three days later.

Logan Parker died at the scene, Nottinghamshire Police said [Nottinghamshire Police] A seven-year-old boy has died after being struck by a car on the A38 in Nottinghamshire. Emergency services were called to the A38 King's Mill Road East, near Kingfisher Way, in Sutton-in-Ashfield, at 20:26 GMT on Tuesday. Logan Parker, who lived in the area, died at the scene, officers said, with the driver stopping and assisting investigators with their inquiries.
