What was your first job as a journalist?

I was a reporter with my high school newspaper.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

I have not used a typewriter.

How is social media changing news?

It has significantly changed it. Consumption is now high on Facebook and Twitter and it has changed the modern journalistic craft.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Ensuring people know the events of the day-you can give consumers the info to leave them to think about what these issues will mean for them.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Microsoft Word, Twitter, Facebook, e-mail, content management systems, internet, telephone (especially!)

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes. I was a reporter.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Experiment. Don't be afraid to do different things.
