Port elected to bat, with openers Kevin Johnston (45) and Jarrad O’Dea (34) setting the tone before Jarrad Ams blasted 61 from just 35 to storm to 2-183. South Hedland struggled to maintain the required run rate during the chase, with Port’s bowlers taking wickets regularly.

The Karratha Falcons have moved to first place in the West Pilbara Cricket Association 20-over competition after securing a three-wicket victory over the Baynton Lions. The round three clash at Bulgarra Oval took place on Saturday, February 17 with the Falcons sending Lions in to bat. A dominant spell of bowling by Mitchell Maturo (3-17) ripped out the Lions’ top order leaving the batting side stumbling at 3-27.

Pegs Creek’s dominant run in the women’s twenty-over competition continued with a 92-run victory over Dampier Taverners in round 10 of the competition. Batting first, Pegs plundered Dampier’s bowling at seven runs an over with captain Jessica Creighton hitting an unbeaten half-century (54) while opener Eva Vernon carried her bat with 47 as they ended their innings on 1-142. With an imposing total, Dampier needed the perfect innings to knock off the Pegs’ powerhouse side.
