1 Introduction Maternal and fetal disorders jeopardize healthcare during pregnancy and increase the risk of life-threatening complications. However, prenatal treatment options are severely limited due to the paucity of safe and accessible medical interventions. The majority of maternal disorders are treated using small molecule drugs.[1-3] Because of their small size, many of these drugs freely distribute to all maternal and fetal organs and can pose toxicity concerns.
