Sports Butler County Community College women’s volleyball closed out the season with a win, ending one of the best years in program history with another top-10 finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association tournament. BC3 swept Northampton Community College 3-0 (set scores: 25-23, 25-22, 25-16) Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in the seventh-place match. Josie Russo had a match-high 15 kills, and Dakota Weldon added 11.

Butler County Community College women’s volleyball will play for seventh place Saturday in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national championships. That came after the No. 3 Pioneers lost their second straight match of the tournament, and just their second all season, to No. 2 Minnesota West 3-1 in Friday’s fifth-place consolation semifinals. Set scores were 25-18, 25-20, 20-25, 25-13.
