Alex Richards & Alison Stephenson The final results are in for Plymouth City Council's local election and all 19 wards have declared. While Labour remains the largest party and maintains overall control, the political landscape of the council has dramatically shifted. Reform UK has gained 14 seats, Labour have lost eight and held onto two, Tories lost four and held onto one and the Greens gained two but lost one.

These are the Chelsea Player ratings for their Premier League clash with Manchester City on April 12. The Blues saw out the first half with a scoreless half where they largely contained the threat of their opposition while looking scattered and incapable on the counter. The match took on a new weight when Bournemouth defeated Arsenal to blow the title race wide open in favour of the Cityzens. The second half proved a step too much for Liam Rosenior against the machine that is run-in Pep.

Exeter man with ‘appalling’ record avoids prison after breaking woman’s hip

A 43-year-old man has admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm after pushing a woman to the ground during an altercation in Exeter city centre. James Short, of Manston Road, Exeter, pleaded guilty at Exeter Magistrates’ Court to inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent. The incident took place on June 7, 2024, at around 5.30pm on South Street. The court heard Short had been involved in an altercation with a woman on a bench when the victim, who did not know either party, intervened.
