What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job was writing for an online film independent film magazine. Fantastic job.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No! But my dad has an old pastel green one sitting in our garage!
How is social media changing news?
News gets out quicker now. As a journalist, we need to be prepared and ready to adapt.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means to tell the truth, no matter how hard it is to. Be a voice for the voiceless.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Through text or email. A couple of quick short sentences explaining what you're going to do.

Why did you become a journalist?
I love writing and telling stories. I wanted to share the hidden stories of everyday things. Topics that have an interesting backstory.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Keep working. Write constantly. Your voice matters. There's a job out there for everyone, you can do this!
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime after six o clock, Monday through Friday.
What's your favorite drink?
Bubble Tea
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Watching soccer, longboarding or hanging out with friends.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That it's uneccesary and unimportant. On the contrary, it's one of the more popular sections in the entire newspaper.
