1 Introduction Wildfires are natural phenomena, and humans have been using fire for land management and related practices such as hunting since the Holocene (Roebroeks et al. 2021). Recently, in many regions of the world, both the number of wildfires and the total burned area have been decreasing since the 1980s (Doerr and Santín 2016; Turco et al. 2016), mainly thanks to the increased fire prevention and control measures.

1 INTRODUCTION Drought is a recurrent climate hazard generated by a temporary imbalance of water availability, often associated with precipitation values that are well below the local average. Even though droughts can develop anywhere, their severity, magnitude, and frequency can vary from region to region, and it is not simple to define the spatial and temporal extent of a drought episode (Carrão et al., 2018).

This dataset presents georeferenced measurements collected at the Nivolet Plain in Gran Paradiso National Park (GPNP), western Italian Alps. The dataset includes the Net Ecosystem Exchange (NEE), Ecosystem Respiration (ER) and meteo-climatic variables, i.e. air and soil temperature, air relative humidity, soil volumetric water content, atmospheric pressure and solar irradiance.
