In a dramatic and exciting way. News is becoming instant, & by-passing the old forms of print media.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Jack Lemmon's character in Front Page.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It's a front row seat on the roller coaster as life and culture unfolds.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
By email and then follow up on the phone. Personal contact is still important.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
A first class imagination, tenacity and a pretty Mac Book Air!
What's your favorite social network?
I love Twitter. I find it liberating and poetic.

Why did you become a journalist?
After knocking on an awful lot of doors. I've been a journalist since I was 24 years old.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I worked as a feature writer on my university newspaper.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Interviewing Sir David Attenborough for Frozen Planet.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Find a niche and be the best. Also, never give up or take no for an answer.
