Amazing homes that come with surprising extras
Port Logan Bay forms the estate's western boundary and comes complete with a lighthouse, a pier and more than two miles of coastline and sandy beaches. Described by the listing agents, Savills, as "one of the finest residential, agricultural and sporting estates in the south of Scotland," the property is for sale right now for a cool £9.5 million ($11.5m) – which isn't bad considering all this remarkable property has to offer. The Murujuga Mermaid: how rock art in WA sheds light on historic encounters of Australian exploration
It is understandable that Captain Cook is a trigger for debates about our national identity and history. However, we often risk being blinded by the legacy of Cook. Around the continent, early encounters with outsiders occurred on other days, and in other years before 1788. Across northern Australia these did not involve Europeans, but rather Southeast Asian trepangers. The earliest documented European landfall was at Cape Keerweer, Cape York, in 1606 with the landing of the crew of the Dufyken.
Rock art shows early contact with US whalers on Australia's remote northwest coast
Rock inscriptions made by crews from two North American whaleships in the early 19th century were found superimposed over earlier Aboriginal engravings in the Dampier Archipelago. Details of the find in northern Western Australia are in a paper published today in Antiquity. They provide the earliest evidence for North American whalers’ memorialising practices in Australia, and have substantial implications for maritime history.

Discussing alcohol in medicines use reviews: experiences of patients in a community pharmacy context
Objectives Although pharmacist‐led medicines use reviews (MURs) are effective for medicines management, little is understood about patients’ experiences of alcohol‐related advice delivered therein. Sampling a population at high risk for misuse (within an area of socio‐economic deprivation), we explored patient experiences of alcohol‐related MURs. Methods Two focus groups were conducted with patients who had discussed alcohol in an MUR in the preceding 3 months (n = 9).
Engaging and Enlightening ‘Passant’ gets reviewed by Reid’s Reader
Reid’s Reader, a book review website, had this to say about ‘Passant: A Journey to Elsewhere’ – “this memoir works very well and has the ring of authenticity”. Alistair Paterson tells the story of his past with vibrant settings and authentic characters. The plot revolves around a protagonist recounting his childhood and adolescent years. The boy grew up in a family that was torn apart in the time of the Great Depression and World War II.

Coffees were brewed from 12 ground bean blends and served to 150 consumers as drunk normally – black, whitened and/or sweetened.
