Dear Editor: Did I miss something? Nowhere have I noticed any mention of an HOV lane for the new Pattullo Bridge construction. This seems a glaring oversight and encourages single-occupancy vehicles congestion for the lifespan of the new bridge. Why on earth would the city councils not have insisted strongly to do the one thing with this new bridge to encourage more efficient transportation, lessen traffic and encourage a more sustainable environmental impact of less pollution?

Dear Editor: I read with frustration the article on getting people to recycle in New Westminster. (Don’t waste your chance for a greener planet, Community, Record, Aug. 31.) If reasonable, average and well-intentioned people aren’t doing it right then the system is at fault, not the people. Look at the bottom of the article with the seven categories people need to distinguish. No. That’s a recipe for poor implementation. Why on earth can’t glass and plastic go in the city blue bins?
