No holiday from stormy weather on President's Day! A strong cold front will make it's way south across the area today, bringing widespread snow. Very little is expected north of Salt Lake County. Most accumulation will be from the south end of Salt Lake & Tooele valleys south into Central & Western Utah. Strong winds are likely across South Central Utah. Another storm will bring even more snow across Central & Southern Utah Tuesday into Wednesday. It's going to get a lot colder behind the storms.

In this week’s weather blog, we are talking about Groundhog Day. When I was a little kid, I vividly remember being excited for Groundhog Day every year. Our school would watch the video of the men in the big hats holding the rodent and we would find out if Spring was coming early or if Winter was going to stick around. (I would always selfishly hope Spring was going to come early because that meant my birthday wasn’t too far behind; I hadn’t quite grasped how a calendar worked yet.
