When Jeff Paulson, CEO of the Academy for International School Heads, sent me three questions and asked me to write this article, I was pretty skeptical. There are a million Heads’ leadership blogs (including mine) and LinkedIn posts about this sort of thing, and besides, answering these three prompts required me to be a little more personal than my usual style.

In today’s challenging educational climate, cultivating a school culture where teachers feel valued and supported should be one of our most urgent leadership priorities. Therefore, examining best practices around teacher evaluations, and recognizing what impedes their proper implementation, is essential.
