How is social media changing news?
Citizen journalism is on the rise. Reporters will only survive if we can truly bridge the gap between raw info and those in charge.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a journalist means staying curious about the world around you, listening intently to people's stories, and doing those stories justice.
Why did you become a journalist?
I know what it's like to not have my story heard. I want to give as many people the chance to share theirs without judgment- responsibly.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Not high school, but college. Served as both a writer and a News Editor for a term.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The story about a group that wanted to preserve a defunct municipal cemetery.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Question everything and leave none unanswered. Keep a level mind without being desensitized. Do your research when you can.
