Leader Publications’ biggest senior expo of the year promises a morning of fun and education for seniors. The Arnold Senior Expo, which is geared toward those 50 and older, will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the Arnold Eagles Hall, 1725 Jeffco Blvd. The event will feature vendors, bingo, live music, speakers and giveaways. Admission is free, and free doughnuts and coffee will be provided while supplies last, courtesy of the Leader.

Anyone who knows me knows I can’t survive without a Celsius in the morning. I keep my fridge stocked with Celsius all the time and love stopping at gas stations to find rare flavors. As someone who has tried practically every Celsius flavor, here’s my top 10: It’s a very basic flavor and pretty sweet but not too overpowering. The lemonade flavor is somewhat lacking and is overpowered by the strawberry. It’s not bad but nothing great and certainly doesn’t compare to many of the other flavors.

This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to complete a 10-week reporting internship with the Jefferson City News Tribune, as a part of the Rural Missouri Newspaper Scholarship. I must admit, I was a bit nervous to begin the internship this summer. As a junior majoring in Strategic Communications at the University of Missouri, my reporting experience was minimal and my newsroom experience was nonexistent.
