Yes. Oh so long ago, I once used the ancient machine. I was a kid, but it seemed like a pretty cool piece of technology at the time.
How is social media changing news?
You can hear all sides of the story instantly, but erroneous facts can spread like wildfire. Also, we have to hear every whim Trump.

What does it mean to be a journalist?
You have to put feelings and rush judgements aside to find the truth.

Why did you become a journalist?
I love to learn about new things, research little known facts, and tell interesting stories.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I was too busy getting overly involved in the drama department, so I missed out on the newspaper.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
You have to be confident, even if you have to fake it until the real confidence shows itself.
When's the best time to pitch you?
I'm very prompt in responding to emails anytime, though late morning - early afternoon is best.

"Would you like this job? You don't need to provide any additional work for free."
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
"We can't pay, but we'd love you to do five articles a week."

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Most likely knitting, crafting, or do some other weird old timey thing.

I read Mental Floss, New York Magazine, and the AV Club everyday.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
For entertainment, it's that people only want to read about superhero movies. For lifestyle, it's about getting to cover more than beauty
