1 Introduction Camelina sativa is described as an ‘Old World’ oilseed crop, which is believed to have been domesticated in prehistoric (Bronze Age) times (Bouby 1998; Brock et al. 2018; Iskandarov et al. 2014). Nowadays, the size of the global Camelina oil market has the potential to grow significantly since major agricultural companies have begun to incorporate Camelina into their feedstock portfolio (Berti et al. 2025).
