I did a typewriter as a kid, writing essays for elementary school. Since then I'm strictly into keyboard, mouse, and computer.

How is social media changing news?

It is a huge source for new items, but it is also affecting their processing in a bad way. Journalists write one-liners instead of texts

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Not really fictional but I loved Spotlight's cast portrayal of the Boston Herald staff

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To be a story-teller but in the real world, and with real characters and accurate info. Still, you need to be creative and imaginative

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

Can't really remember

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

by email

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Word and grammerly

What's your favorite social network?

Facebook

Who do you wish followed you?

Everybody

Why did you become a journalist?

I have a passion for original stories, and I love in being creative in telling them. I'm also good in it. Also: every day is different

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

nope

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I think it was my exclusive interview with Colts' owner Jim Irsay, who spoke openly about his Jewish legacy, which he never discussed before

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

This is what I learned over the year: more than new original interesting pieces, the public prefers getting news updates about known stories

When's the best time to pitch you?

If the story is good, anytime is a good time

What's the best pitch you ever got?

the best ones, I pitched to myself

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

Was asked by a publicist to write about some unknown local self-proclaimed celebrity, that he himself couldn't remember her name

What's your favorite drink?

Red Wine

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

I'll probably be walking in the streets of New York thinking about my next project

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

Sports Illustrated

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

People are so used to reading briefly and used to consume straight forward bulletins, so they miss my subtext rich way of writing
