Abstract Background: Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) is a recommended treatment for patients with advanced prostate cancer, mostly for palliative purposes. In limited resource settings, decision-making about palliative treatment should be guided by the overall survival benefit of one option over another, patient life expectancy, quality of life, and cost.
