Turkey's domestic corn prices have risen as escalating Black Sea tensions disrupt the flow of Ukrainian supplies, tightening availability ahead of the local harvest, traders said. Turkey has been the main destination for Ukrainian corn in the 2025-26 marketing year. According to Ukraine port line-up data shared by traders, Turkey imported around 5.3 million metric tons of Ukrainian corn from July 2025 to June 2026, accounting for about 30% of Ukraine's total corn exports.

Ukrainian grain exports are expected to be increasingly rerouted through the Danube and the western side of the country's border as escalating attacks on vessels and port infrastructures at the deep sea ports disrupt shipments from Ukraine, traders said. The attacks have severely affected grain loading and export operations at Ukrainian ports, raising concerns that seaborne flows could halt if security conditions worsen.

The EU grain trade association COCERAL has cut its corn production forecast for marketing year 2025-26 (July-June), leading to expectations of higher imports in MY 2026-27, with Ukraine's share set to increase, multiple market sources said July 15. COCERAL's production forecast was lowered to 52.7 million metric tons from 57.2 million mt previously, below the 57.4 million mt harvested last season.
