When Nicolette Milnes Walker (28) arrived in Newport Rhode Island on July 26, 1971, she was greeted with foghorns, a nautical escort, flashing lights. There was even a clap of thunder! The Mayor came out in his motorboat to meet her and offered her the Freedom of the City; her parents were waiting, the Navy was there – and so was the Press. As she stepped onto the pontoon in her freshly-donned mini-dress, there were cameras and a microphone as well as hugs and greetings.

When I stuffed my life into badly packed boxes back in 2015 and prepared to move abroad, there were a lot of things I expected to miss. Family and friends. London and its infinite cultural offerings. Pubs. Libraries. Major life events of my loved ones like weddings, 30th birthdays, and new babies. Even the next series of The Apprentice (which was still good back then btw). What I never thought I would miss though, was Flamin’ Hot Monster Munch. So much so, I craved it on them on the regs.
