What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be the link between what is occurring right now and what we as a society know.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
When a misspelt hashtag starts trending I think it's hilarious

Via email - short and concise please!
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Open Media, Microsoft (Teams/Outlook/One Note), Trello, Google Drive, Apple Final Cut, Logic Pro X.
What's your favorite social network?
It's a tie between Twitter and Instagram.
Who do you wish followed you?
Steve Carrell... he seems like a nice guy.
Why did you become a journalist?
I love stories and journalism is real-life storytelling.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
We didn't have one!
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Anything real life - I'm pretty proud of all my stories.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
If a publication doesn't accept you as a worker then make your own publication. Experience does include working on your own projects!

Anytime - I answer when I'm ready

Anytime someone is genuine (I don't like automated emails)
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
One that was pages and pages long and for some reason the font was tiny.
What's your favorite drink?
Kombucha. Ginger kombucha. Although one time I had this homemade pear kombucha and I think about it every day.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
On my phone... or eating.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I like to listen to podcasts - the Sensemaker by Tortoise is great.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Maybe that it's not 'real journalism'... not everything is hard news and that doesn't mean it's unnecessary. People need lighter stories too.
