Introduction Complex problems require continued examination and ongoing improvement efforts. Such is the case with the persistent national nursing faculty shortage. As reported for the 2022–2023 academic year by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), using data from more than 900 schools, there was an 8.8% faculty vacancy rate in Baccalaureate and higher education nursing programs.
