SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Savannah Steel celebrated a franchise first Friday night, introducing their first-ever mascot before taking on the league-leading Jacksonville Waves at Enmarket Arena. During their inaugural season, the Steel unveiled Belle, a female dog mascot the organization says will serve as the "voice of the team" while helping continue to build the franchise's identity throughout Savannah. The team had teased the reveal all week on social media before introducing Belle to fans.

ATLANTA - Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key have been named to the preseason watch list for the 2026 Dodd Trophy, the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and Peach Bowl, Inc. announced Thursday. The annual award recognizes the nation's top college football head coach based not only on success on the field, but also on scholarship, leadership and integrity. Smart and Key are among 20 coaches nationwide selected for this year's preseason watch list.

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Several Savannah football standouts are coming together to give back to the community this summer. Former Benedictine Military School graduates Za'Quan Bryan and Luke Kromenhoek, former Calvary Day School standout Terry Simmons, amd former Savannah Country Day star Kenny Odom, are hosting the fourth annual "Camp With the Champs". The youth football camp is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
