Djo and His Journey to The Crux
“The street is getting so clean,” observes Joe Keery. Outside, a street cleaner is humming loudly, interrupting the actor-musician’s train of thought. He refocuses, takes a bite of his Vegemite toast. “It tastes kind of like soy sauce or something,” he observes, chewing slowly. “Mmm, really good. I’d eat that.” Another rev, and the street cleaner goes silent. Keery smiles, swallows. “All right, back to business.” It’s mid-February, and Keery is in Australia to play Laneway festival.
Artist Jonny Niesche Takes Us On A Tour Of His Iridescent Home
AMONG A LINE OF TERRACE HOUSES in the Sydney neighbourhood of Stanmore, an olive-green door offers a clue as to the art-filled residence we’re here to visit. It’s the home of contemporary Australian artist Jonny Niesche, which he shares with his wife, Amber, son, Monte, and dog, Panda. It’s Panda who greets us first, tail-wagging her way to the door to welcome us in. Shortly after, Niesche appears.
Tom Butterworth's sculptures bring the outdoors inside
AROUND 18 MONTHS ago, Tom Butterworth stumbled across a discarded piece of sandstone that was caked in dirt and debris. He brushed it off, and noticed the amazing contours that bloomed across its surface. "I knew something special was there to be revealed," he says. So he went about cleaning it off, sanding its grainy surface back into a smooth top. Now it's a coffee table, propped up by two brass legs and a wavy sandstone plank. This particular piece, explains Butterworth, is a one-of-one.
Kendrick Lamar is coming to Australia in 2025
HOLD THE PHONE. Kendrick Lamar has just been announced as the headline act for 2025's Spilt Milk music festival. The Australian music festival, which has grown to attract some of the biggest names in music in previous years, dropped the bombshell announcement this morning. If you thought the Aussie music festival was becoming a relic of the past, think again.
Sydney’s Favourite Negroni Bar Opens Conte Sydney
IF YOU THOUGHT every negroni was created equal, you were wrong. We realised this recently, after spending the evening at Conte Sydney, perched at the negroni bar that forms the centerpiece of the capacious new city restaurant. There, we watched on as a small army of mixologists stirred, poured and perfected versions of the classic Italian aperitif — there are over 40 on the menu — treating each variation with the care and precision that makes Conte’s negronis the very best in Sydney.

See inside Simon Baker's Esquire Australia cover reveal soiree in Sydney
THERE ARE QUINTESSENTIAL Esquire cover stars, and then there's Simon Baker. With a long and decorated career (the Emmy-nominated Australian actor is renowned for his roles in L.A. Confidential, The Devil Wears Prada and, of course, The Mentalist), this certainly isn't Baker's first magazine cover.
What do we think of Jacob Elordi's 'Wuthering Heights' transformation?
IF THERE'S ONE THING the internet hates, it's a hot Hollywood actor fixing what ain't broke. Late last year, Jacob Elordi was subject to this parasocial disapproval when he debuted a shaggy hairdo and patchy mutton chops on the Berlinale red carpet, while promoting his new Prime Video series The Narrow Road to the Deep North.

How To Style The New Balance 471, The New Trending Sneaker
THE SLIMLINE SNEAKER has the staying power of a long distance runner. The reigning silhouette of 2023, 2024 and 2025, it’s the Harper’s BAZAAR team’s answer to the age-old question: what’s the perfect ballet slipper/fashion sneaker hybrid? But not all slimline sneakers are created equal, and recently, we’ve found ourselves searching for a style that marries vintage-inspired details with contemporary trends.
Alexandra Daddario On Watches, Teenage Dreams, & Motherhood
ALL EYES are on Alexandra Daddario, as she cuts through the crowd in a shimmering black Balenciaga gown. “I’ve been in sweatpants for almost a year, so it’s nice to wear something sparkly,” jokes the new mother. But the dress isn’t all about the American actress’ outfit that’s glittering. On Daddario’s wrist is a Carrera Chronograph from TAG Heuer’s Precious collection; light dances across its rose gold case as she speaks to Harper’s BAZAAR inside an exclusive Melbourne residence.
Celebrating Mo√ęt & Chandon's return as the official Champagne of Formula 1
SIR JACKIE STEWART, Ayrton Senna, Nikki Lauda, Alain Prost, Mika Häkkinen and Michael Schumacher - all iconic drivers who have celebrated Grand Prix wins with a pop of Moët & Chandon on the podium. And in 2025, the winners of each Formula 1 GP will do the same, as Moët returns as the official Champagne of F1.
The best menswear at the 2025 Oscars after party
THE OFFICIAL OSCARS PROCEEDINGS have barely wrapped, and already, the stars are switching their fits, as has become customary for those attending the official Vanity Fair Oscars After Party.
Did Kendrick Lamar just perform at the Super Bowl in flares?
DON'T TURN THE TV off, at least not during Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. The Compton rapper just transformed the Caesars Superdome into a 15 minute rap concert, but it wasn't just his renditions of 'Not Like Us' and 'Humble' that had our eyes peeled to the screen. No, it was the flared jeans clinging to Lamar's upper thighs that had us wondering exactly what decade we're in.
Justin Williams on the unconventional characters that inspire his art
THERE IS NOTHING conventional about Justin Williams. Growing up in rural Victoria, he didn't get into any Australian universities, so he moved to New York, trained under working artists and, with a little help from YouTube, taught himself ancient painting techniques such as egg tempera.
Harris Dickinson isn't afraid of feeling embarrassed
HARRIS DICKINSON IS typing the words 'baby girl term' into his Google search bar. "Doesn't it mean 'dainty', though?" He asks. "Okay, it says: 'a slang term used to describe a man who's attractive, cute or vulnerable'." He pauses, then nods. " Okaaaaaay. " Despite starring in the film of the moment, which shares a title with the term of online endearment, I'm roundly shocked to discover Dickinson wasn't aware that as of right now, he's one of the internet's favourite 'baby girls'.
Classic Bentleys coming to Houston County in April
Bentleys like this 1928 model were race cars before being converted into luxury vehicles by Rolls Royce. SUBMITTED Members of the North American Vintage Bentley Meet stopped in Erin recently and will return in April as the classic cars will drive around the courthouse square. From left are Alex Joyce, Tom Heckman and MaryJo Heckman. AMY DICKINSON CAMPBELL Some meetings are happy accidents.
Esquire's 15 favourite books, TV shows, films and memes from 2024
FOR THE EXTREMELY online among us, 2024 has felt like a gift that continued to give, with viral moment after viral moment sandwiched between some excellent pieces of culture. From an album that defined an entire aesthetic (Brat green, you win Q3) to a TV show about two brothers and convicted murderers that premiered on Netflix at the same time as their resentencing hearing was taking place, 2024 has been a wild ride, yet one we've ridden (and written about) with enthusiasm.
Fiji's Cloudbreak is every pro surfer's favourite wave. Here's how to visit it in 2025
INTERNATIONAL SPORTING EVENTS are great occasions to book holidays around. Wimbledon coincides perfectly with summer in London. Host cities come alive during the Olympic Games. Then there's the Tour de France through the French countryside, offering an excellent excuse to eat cheese and drink wine in the sun for weeks.

Darcy Moore and James Noble on bringing the AFL player's NGV Gala suit to life
IT'S NOT EVERY DAY you see an AFL player dressed up in a bedazzled suit. But at the 2024 NGV Gala last weekend, which was held in celebration of the opening of the gallery's blockbuster Yayoi Kusama exhibition, Collingwood captain Darcy Moore rolled up in black tie, with a notch lapel sprinkled with shiny black rhinestones. The suit was the work of James Noble, the founder and designer of Reigner, a Melbourne-based brand that specialises in Western-inspired "pleasure wear".

WHEN SERVED AT a bar, with a perfect garnish and ice cubes frozen into stylish shapes, cocktails can come off as complicated. But save for something like a sour, the majority of your favourite cocktails are surprisingly easy to make. Take a martini for example: two ingredients, plus a lemon rind or an olive, depending on whether you like it dirty or dry. You'd also be surprised just how many you can make without a shaker.

What do canines think of Louis Vuitton's 'Dog Lvrs' collection?
DEDICATED TO 'DANDY DOG LOVERS', Louis Vuitton's spring/summer 2025 pre-collection is the wardrobe we aspire to walk our good boys and girls in. Designed by Pharrell Williams, the collection is inspired by "the cosmopolitan culture of dogs and the humans that walk them", which might just be the most endearing proposal to come from a luxury fashion house in years.

The Australian brand behind Troye Sivan's $530,000 Arias watch
HE MAY BE the most famous male pop star in the world right now, but Troye Sivan still has so much time for the Australian music industry. While on his Australian stadium tour (he plays in Melbourne tonight), the Aussie pop star arrived at the 2024 Aria Awards, going casual on the red carpet in a crisp button-up shirt and shades before changing into a black Prada ensemble, complete with a diamond harness, for the ceremony, where he took out three awards.

Unpacking our obsession with celebrity lookalikes
WHEN I WAS IN high school, there was a website that told you what celebrity you most closely resembled. It provided my friends and I with hours of entertainment - you took your photo, uploaded it, and moments later, your celebrity lookalike was revealed.
THIS TIME OF YEAR presents Australians with two holiday options: to stay Down Under and soak up the antipodean summer, or board a flight and hit the slopes in Japan, Europe or Canada? If your appetite for fresh power exceeds your desire to sit on a beach, we get it - especially now that you can ski in style, wearing Louis Vuitton's Ski Collection, designed by Pharrell Williams himself.
Paul Mescal loves a shrunken cardigan
PAUL MESCAL may have shape-shifted into a brawny barbarian for his starring role in Gladiator II. But while his upper thighs have grown (even) bigger and his stocks have risen amongst film bros everywhere, Mescal seems intent on holding onto his feminine side, opting to buck the promo tour trend of method dressing in place of soft, form-fitting cardigans.
Is that Billy Zane, or Marlon Brando?
IMAGES OF BILLY ZANE in character as Marlon Brando have gone certifiably viral, and it's not hard to see why. The actor, most known for his role as the pompous Cal Hockley in Titanic, looks like a spitting image of the movie star, in first look photographs released from the set of the new film, Waltzing with Brando.
Is 'Disclaimer' the show of the year?
WHY AREN'T MORE people talking about Disclaimer? Sure, Nobody Wants This was cute, and the impact of Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez story was felt around the world. But I'm surprised more cinephiles aren't obsessing over the AppleTV+ limited series. Perhaps it's because, unlike Nobody Wants This and Monsters, Disclaimer, which is directed by the visionary Alfonso Cuarón, didn't drop all at once like a bingeable bomb.
Amyl and the Sniffers are unapologetically Aussie
" ARE YOU GUYS from Amyl and the Sniffers?" Bryce Wilson and Gus Romer don't get asked this question every day, but moments before sitting down for our interview, they're approached by a bartender, who also happens to be a big fan. "And we're the B Team," laughs Romer, as he recalls the unexpected interaction. "We don't get recognised nearly as much." It is Amyl's frontwoman Amy Taylor, with her feathery blonde hair and infectious smile, that gets stopped for selfies and autographs most often.
Tyler, the Creator is bringing his Chromokopia World Tour to Australia
TYLER, THE CREATOR has announced he's bringing his Chromokopia: World Tour to Australia in August and September 2025. The announcement comes days before the release of his new album of the same name, which the rapper has been teasing on his socials with a highly stylised sepia-toned visual rollout. He also dropped the first track from the album, 'Noid', on October 22. Is Tyler, The Creator going on tour in Australia?
The 2025 Met Gala is going to be huge for menswear. Here's why
THE 2025 MET GALA theme has been announced, and already, it's one for the books. Titled 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style', the event - and associated exhibition - will mark the first time the Met Gala has focused entirely on work from designers of colour. A clear celebration of black style, and men's utilisation of fashion to demonstrate their creative freedom and represent themselves autonomously, it's also the first time in over 20 years the Gala theme has had a menswear focus.
Men just want to wear black suits | Esquire Middle East – The Region’s Best Men’s Magazine
The Oscars red carpet sent out a strong message: following years of experimentalism, in which skirts, colourful tuxedos and personality shoes crept onto red carpets, all men want to wear is a black suit. Scrolling through images of the Oscars, it was difficult to find a famous guy who wasn’t wearing black.

She explained that "Diggers are the thing he cares about most in the world and he was queuing up because he wanted to go on a ride and drive one, and she just said no".
