A Blood‐Brain Barrier‐Penetrant Ag(III) Corrole Compound Rescues Alzheimer's Disease Pathology by Targeting Aβ42‐Induced Oxidative Stress
1 Introduction Given the aging global population, developing treatments for central nervous system (CNS) disorders such as Alzheimer's is crucial.[1-6] In Alzheimer's disease (AD) there is an increased accumulation of Aβ oligomers and an increased ratio of Aβ42/Aβ40.[7-11] Aβ42 oligomers cause increased accumulation of ROS and intracellular calcium.[12-14] Among the various factors that have been linked with the cause and progression of AD, excessive generation of ROS is one of the prominent...

1 Introduction Within the Born-Oppenheimer approximation, the potential energy ( V $$ V $$ ) for nuclear motion of a molecular system computed using ab initio electronic structure theoretical methods comprises the electronic energy ( E el $$ {E}_{\mathrm{el}} $$ ) and the internuclear repulsion energy ( V nu $$ {V}_{\mathrm{nu}} $$ ) for a given geometry.
Synthesis of functionalized lactones: catalytic cross-coupling of 1,2-diols and allylic alcohols
Synthesis of functionalized lactones: catalytic cross-coupling of 1,2-diols and allylic alcohols† Simple industrial feedstock chemicals such as allylic alcohols and 1,2-diols are cross-coupled to deliver δ-hydroxybutyrolactones. The reaction occurs through O–H bond activation via amine–amide metal–ligand cooperation involving allylic aldehydes, radical intermediates, and Ru(III) species, as established by EPR studies.
Rotationally inelastic rate coefficients for C7N− and C10H− anions in collision with H2 at interstellar conditions
The anions C N− and C H− are the two longest of the linear (C,N)-bearing and (C,H)-bearing chains which have so far been detected in the Interstellar Medium. In order to glean information on their collision-induced rotational state-changing processes, we analyse the general features of new ab initio potentials describing the interaction of both linear anions with H , one of the most abundant partners in their ISM environment.
Study of angular observables in exclusive semileptonic ${B}_{c}$ decays
In this work, we investigate angular observables such as the longitudinal polarization of charged leptons, τ-polarization, and forward-backward asymmetry in semileptonic Bc decays. Additionally, we provide predictions for lepton flavor violating observables, the R ratios in the decay channels Bc→ηc(J/ψ)lνl and Bc→D(D*)lνl across the entire q2 region. Our analysis is conducted within the relativistic independent quark model, focusing on the potential model-dependent aspects of these observables.
Deciphering accretion-driven starquakes in recycled millisecond pulsars using gravitational waves
The advent of modern gravitational wave (GW) detectors has opened a new horizon in the field of astrophysics, resulting in the detection of GW signals from binary black hole mergers (Abbott et al. 2016) and, subsequently, the first-ever detection of signals from binary neutron star mergers (Abbott et al. 2017). Developments of more state-of-the-art and sensitive detectors allow us to detect more such GW signals.
Electromagnetic fields in low-energy heavy-ion collisions with baryon stopping
We investigate the impact of baryon stopping on the temporal evolution of electromagnetic fields in vacuum at low-energy Au+Au collisions with sNN=4–20GeV. Baryon stopping is incorporated into the Monte Carlo Glauber model by employing a parametrized velocity profile of participant nucleons with nonzero deceleration.
Pressure-driven transitions in the double perovskite ${\mathrm{La}}_{2}{\mathrm{CoTiO}}_{6}$: Antiferromagnetic insulator to nonmagnetic metal via antiferromagnetic metal in a double perovskite oxide
In double perovskite oxides (A2BB′O6), magnetism often arises from diluted magnetic lattices, created by combining a perovskite structure with localized 3d magnetic elements (B) alongside another perovskite lattice containing nearly nonmagnetic delocalized 4d/5d elements (B′). Alternatively, the magnetic lattice can consist entirely of 3d elements, with one being completely nonmagnetic with a d0 state.
High‐frequency stability estimates for the linearized inverse boundary value problem for the biharmonic operator with attenuation on some bounded domains
1 INTRODUCTION Let us consider the following boundary-value problem for the biharmonic operator with constant attenuation posed in a bounded domain Ω ⊂ ℝ n , n ≥ 3 $$ \Omega \subset {\mathrm{\mathbb{R}}}^n,n\ge 3 $$ with a smooth boundary ∂ Ω $$ \mathrm{\partial \Omega } $$ : Δ 2 u − k 2 − i k b 2 u + q u = 0 in Ω , u = f on ∂ Ω , Δ u = g on ∂ Ω .
Causality criteria from stability analysis at ultrahigh boost
In this work, we have exclusively employed the linear stability analysis at ultrahigh boost on two well-known stable-causal theories—second-order Müller-Israel-Stewart and first-order Bemfica-Disconzi-Noronha-Kovtun, to identify the region of parameter space over which they are frame-invariantly stable and obey causal signal propagation.
Heavy quark dynamics via the Gribov-Zwanziger approach
In this work, we investigate the momentum-dependent drag and diffusion coefficient of heavy quarks (HQs) moving in the quark-gluon plasma background. The leading order scattering amplitudes required for this purpose have been obtained using the Gribov-Zwanziger propagator for the mediator gluons to incorporate the nonperturbative effects relevant to the phenomenologically accessible temperature regime.
Understanding the radio luminosity function of star-forming galaxies and its cosmological evolution
We explore the redshift evolution of the radio luminosity function (RLF) of star-forming galaxies using galform, a semi-analytic model of galaxy formation and a dynamo model of the magnetic field evolving in a galaxy. Assuming energy equipartition between the magnetic field and cosmic rays, we derive the synchrotron luminosity of each sample galaxy.
Effects of strangeness on the chiral pseudocritical line
Within a 2+1 flavor Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model, we calculate the curvature coefficients and check them against available lattice QCD estimations. With the observation that the flavor mixing due to the ‘t Hooft determinant term significantly affects the κ2S, we explore the effect of μS on the T−μB crossover lines. With the novel determination of negative κ2B at large μS, we advocate the importance of studying the same in lattice QCD.
Bayesian inference methodology to characterize the dust emissivity at far-infrared and submillimeter frequencies
We present a Bayesian inference method to characterise the dust emission properties using the well-known dust- correlation in the diffuse interstellar medium at Planck frequencies ν ≥ 217 GHz. We use the Galactic map from the Galactic All-Sky Survey (GASS) as a template to trace the Galactic dust emission. We jointly infer the pixel-dependent dust emissivity and the zero level present in the Planck intensity maps.
Causal third-order viscous hydrodynamics within relaxation-time approximation
In the present work, we derive a linearly stable and causal theory of relativistic third-order viscous hydrodynamics from the Boltzmann equation with relaxation-time approximation. We employ viscous correction to the distribution function obtained using a Chapman-Enskog like iterative solution of the Boltzmann equation. Our derivation highlights the necessity of incorporating a new dynamical degree of freedom, specifically an irreducible tensor of rank three, within this framework.
Molecular-hybridization-induced antidamping and sizeable enhanced spin-to-charge conversion in ${\mathrm{Co}}_{20}{\mathrm{Fe}}_{60}{\mathrm{B}}_{20}/\ensuremath{\beta}$-$\mathrm{W}/{\mathrm{C}}_{60}$ heterostructures
The development of power-efficient spintronic devices has been a compelling need in the post-CMOS technology era. The effective tuneability of spin-orbit coupling (SOC) in the bulk and at the interfaces of hybrid material stacks is a prerequisite for scaling down the dimensions and power consumption of these devices. In this work, we demonstrate the strong chemisorption of C60 (fullerene) molecules when grown on the high-SOC β-W layer.
Quasiparticle cosmology
We consider thermodynamics of the Universe within a quasiparticle approach where the collective dynamics of a system is governed by the thermal mass of the constituents. The spacetime dependence of this thermal mass leads to a negative contribution to the pressure and a positive contribution to the energy density, similar to the effect due to dark energy. We propose a mechanism based on thermodynamic arguments to quantify this contribution from the thermal vacuum of the system.

We study the effect of external proper time-dependent longitudinal forces on the evolution of the distribution function using the Boltzmann equation with a relaxation time collision kernel under Bjorken flow. We derive an exact solution and study the early time attractor behavior of different components of energy-momentum tensor under Bjorken symmetry.

Terahertz crystal electric field transitions in a Kondo-lattice antiferromagnet
Abstract Hybridization between the localized f electrons and the delocalized conduction electrons together with the crystal electric field (CEF) play a determinant role in governing the many-body ground state of a correlated-electron system. Here, we investigate the low-energy CEF states in CeAg2Ge2, a prototype Kondo-lattice antiferromagnet where Kondo correlation is found to exist within the antiferromagnetic phase.
Self-induced inverse spin Hall effect in ${\mathrm{La}}_{0.67}{\mathrm{Sr}}_{0.33}{\mathrm{MnO}}_{3}$ films
The efficient generation of spin currents and spin torques via spin-orbit coupling is an important goal of spintronics research. One crucial metric for spin current generation is the spin Hall angle, which is the ratio of the spin Hall current to the transversely flowing charge current.
Energy loss of a fast moving parton in Gribov-Zwanziger plasma
The Gribov-Zwanziger prescription applied within Yang-Mills theory is demonstrated to be an efficient method for refining the theory’s infrared dynamics. We study the collisional energy loss experienced by a high-energetic test parton as it traverses through the Grivov plasma at finite temperature. To achieve this, we employ a semiclassical approach that considers the parton’s energy loss while accounting for the backreaction induced by the polarization effects due to its motion in the medium.
Phys. Rev. B 109, 045133 (2024) - Accurate and efficient prediction of the band gaps and optical spectra of chalcopyrite semiconductors from a nonempirical range-separated dielectric-dependent hybrid: Comparison with many-body perturbation theory
The accurate prediction of electronic and optical properties in chalcopyrite semiconductors has been a persistent challenge for density-functional-theory (DFT) -based approaches. Addressing this issue, we demonstrate that very accurate results can be obtained using a nonempirical screened dielectric-dependent hybrid (DDH) functional.
How negative feedback and the ambient environment limit the influence of recombination in common envelope evolution
We perform 3D hydrodynamical simulations to study recombination and ionization during the common envelope (CE) phase of binary evolution, and develop techniques to track the ionic transitions in time and space. We simulate the interaction of a 2 M red giant branch primary and a 1 M companion modeled as a particle. We compare a run employing a tabulated equation of state (EOS) that accounts for ionization and recombination, with a run employing an ideal gas EOS.
Enhancing the photocatalytic efficiency and stability of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals for visible-light driven aerobic diaryl thio/seleno etherification
Enhancing the photocatalytic efficiency and stability of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals for visible-light driven aerobic diaryl thio/seleno etherification† CsPbBr3 holds promise as a visible light photocatalyst, but its instability in oxygen-rich and polar solvent environments poses a significant challenge for practical utilization. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of orthorhombic CsPbBr3 nanocrystals (NCs) synthesized from dibromoisocyanuric acid.
Reparametrization symmetry of local entropy production on a dynamical horizon
Recently, it was shown that for a dynamical black hole in any higher-derivative theory of gravity, one could construct a spatial entropy current, characterizing the in/outflow of entropy at every point on the horizon, as long as the dynamics of the amplitude is small enough. However, the construction is very much dependent on how we choose the spatial slicing of the horizon along its null generators.
Heavy quarkonia in QGP medium in an arbitrary magnetic field
We compute the heavy quarkonium complex potential in a magnetic field of arbitrary strength generated in the relativistic heavy-ion collision. First, the one-loop gluon polarization tensor is obtained in the presence of an external, constant, and homogeneous magnetic field using the Schwinger proper time formalism in Euclidean space. The gluon propagator is computed from the gluon polarization tensor, and it is used to calculate the dielectric permittivity in the presence of the magnetic field.

Impact of the chiral asymmetry and a magnetic field on the passage of an energetic test parton in a QCD medium
We study the dependence of soft contribution to the energy loss of a test parton moving with a high velocity on the chiral imbalance and magnetic field in the QCD medium. A semiclassical approach is adopted to estimate the parton energy loss that takes into account the back-reaction on the parton due to the polarization effects of the QCD medium while traversing through the medium. We find that the motion of the parton is sensitive to the chiral asymmetry in the medium.
Neutral pion mass in a warm magnetized medium within the linear sigma model coupled to quarks framework
We study the neutral pion mass in the presence of an external arbitrary magnetic field in the framework of the linear sigma model coupled to quarks to a quark at finite temperature. In doing so, we have calculated the pion self-energy, constructed the dispersion equation via resummation, and solved the dispersion relation at zero three-momentum limit. In calculating the pion mass, we have included meson self-coupling’s thermal and magnetic contribution and approximate chiral order parameter v0.
Advent and features of pyriporphyrinoids: an overview of a pyridine-based porphyrin analogue
Advent and features of pyriporphyrinoids: an overview of a pyridine-based porphyrin analogue Pyriporphyrinoids have recently attracted a significant proliferation of attention due to their versatile characters, which stem from structural motifs in which the pyridine moiety is involved. The evolution of pyriporphyrin chemistry revealed the subtle modifications of the macrocyclic core that tweak the electronic structure as compared to the parental macrocycle.
Examination of thermalization of quarkonia at energies available at the CERN Large Hadron Collider
Abstract We analyze the relative yields of different bottomonia and charmonia states produced in Pb-Pb, p−Pb, and high multiplicity p−p collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider, within a semiclassical grand canonical ensemble approach. The underlying assumption is the early thermalization and subsequent freeze-out of these heavy hadrons resulting in their chemical freeze-out at a temperature of approximately 230MeV, significantly higher than that of light and strange hadrons.
Boost invariant spin hydrodynamics within the first order in derivative expansion
Abstract Boost-invariant equations of spin hydrodynamics confined to the first-order terms in gradients are numerically solved. The spin equation of state, relating the spin density tensor to the spin chemical potential, is consistently included in the first order. Depending on its form and the structure of the spin transport coefficients, we find solutions which are both stable and unstable within the considered evolution times of 10fm/c.
All-dielectric apodized photonic crystals: A nondissipative pseudo-Hermitian system hosting multiple exceptional points
Abstract Optical systems obeying non-Hermitian dynamics have been the subject of intense and concerted investigation over the past two decades owing to their broad implications in photonics, acoustics, electronics, and atomic physics. A vast majority of such investigations rely on a dissipative, balanced loss-gain system which introduces unavoidable noise, and consequently this limits the coherent control of propagation dynamics.

Abstract We investigate the nature of the complex retarded potential of a heavy quarkonium moving in a hot and dense static deconfined nuclear medium. The well-known concept of the retarded potential in electrodynamics is extended to the context of the heavy-quark by modifying the static vacuum Cornell potential through Lorentz transformation to the static frame of the medium.

Magnetic-field-dependent electric-charge transport in hadronic medium at finite temperature
Abstract Electric charge transport of hadronic matter at finite temperature and magnetic field is studied within the linear σ model. Anisotropic transport coefficients associated with the charge transport are estimated both in the weak and strong regimes of the magnetic field using the transport theory approach. In a weakly magnetized medium, the magnetic field effects are incorporated through the Lorentz force term in the Boltzmann equation.

Experimental evidence of a pump-wavefront-induced Stern-Gerlach-like splitting in optical parametric generators
Abstract Quantum mechanical Stern–Gerlach (SG)-like effects are unusual to explore in the domain of optics due to the absence of any interaction of photons or optical waves with the conventional magnetic field. A few recent investigations point toward the possibility of observing an SG-like effect in nonlinear optics via wedge-shaped poling in a long lithium niobate (LN) crystal to generate a spatially varying analogous magnetic field ($\vec {B}_A$).
